Trial Attorney with More than Ten Years of Experience
Michael Chessa is a distinguished trial attorney with extensive expertise in both criminal defense and personal injury litigation. Before establishing his own practice, he served as a prosecutor and later as a trial attorney for a prominent New York City firm specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice. In this capacity, he ardently represented victims of severe accidents, medical negligence, and workplace injuries.
At the onset of his legal journey, Mr. Chessa was an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in New York. There, he prosecuted a wide range of felonies and misdemeanors. He took on the role of lead counsel in multiple jury and bench trials, presented countless cases before the Grand Jury, and oversaw pretrial hearings.
Before entering the legal field, Mr. Chessa contributed as an assistant editor for a best-selling New York Times columnist. A proud native of New York, he was selected for the Teaching Fellows program and dedicated his skills as a middle school teacher in East New York. He earned his B.A. from the University of Colorado in 2000 and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2010. Mr. Chessa is a licensed member of the New York State Bar, the Eastern District, and the New York State Bar Association.
